Find Balance in Tuscany
September 9-16, 2023
Open to all levels of writers & yogis
Bring a writing project to work on during this retreat. Leave with a great draft, and a stronger connection to yourself & the world around you.
This is a 7 night writing retreat in Tuscany, Italy hosted by Yoga teacher and TV writer Ali Vingiano (The Morning Show). There will be daily writing workshops, notes and feedback on your work as desired, and guided journaling. In addition, this retreat incorporates elements of Yoga, meditation, and breathwork. There will be adventures throughout Tuscany, three fresh, organic, homemade Italian meals a day, and plenty of free time to write, relax, or explore!
Over the past few years many of us have reevaluated our priorities. We are seeking deeper meaning in our lives. We know that work and success cannot ensure lasting happiness. We can also make room for our wellbeing. We must find a balance. And that is the focus on this retreat.
You can have pasta, wine, and a healthy lifestyle. You can want to make lots of money, and still recognize that true abundance can only come from within. Instead of living in inner conflict, we can connect to our core wants, create boundaries, and start living the lives we deserve. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do during our week in Tuscany! Think of it as healing by way of fun, adventure, relaxation and nature.
Nourish your soul with fresh Italian food. Celebrate with wine from a nearby vineyard. Center yourself through introspective journaling. Strengthen your body and mind with meditation and movement. Cultivate self-love and relax in the knowledge that you already have everything you need.
Then, write.
I tailor the writing workshops to the needs and desires of participants. You can bring a longstanding writing project, or come simply to learn new skills and find your voice. Free writing time is also available instead of partaking in workshops. You can make the retreat whatever you want it to be!
We’ll be staying at Maraviglia, a sustainable villa that’s immersed in an olive grove and surrounded by oak trees.
The choice of location is very intentional. Tuscany has a palpable energy that offers a chance to heal, connect with yourself, and find joy.
Here’s what else you can expect from the retreat:
Wake up to this view, and enjoy your coffee or tea with silent journaling.
Activate your mind and body with Yoga and meditation.
Note: There are not daily vinyasa classes.
Spend your afternoon relaxing or writing by the pool, picking vegetables in the garden, or walking through the countryside.
The retreat includes wine tasting at a nearby vineyard, a trip to natural hot springs, and an Italian cooking class!
Gluten free options available. If you don’t drink, you can opt out of the wine tasting and join a hike to a nearby castle.
Maraviglia is the childhood home of the owner, so expect traditional Italian living.
It’s not luxury living, but the villa radiates charm and character. The beds are foam mattresses, and all furniture is hand made by local artisans. You’ll find beauty in the simplicity, and in living in harmony with the surroundings.
